Senator Wide Stance and Vitter Need to Resign

I was about to go off on Senator Larry Craig (R-ID) for soliciting an undercover police officer for sex in a public bathroom at the Minnesota airport, but then it occurred to me that Senator David Vitter (R-LA) is still in office. If you recall, Senator Vitter is the scumbag who has been soliciting prostitutes for decades all while being married.

Now that Senator Craig is in the news for equally despicable conduct, it is high time they both stepped down from their posts. Larry Craig has already pleaded guilty to the crime and David Vitter openly admitted that he was bumping uglies with some whores at the escort service. A number of GOP politicians have rightfully called for Craig to resign, but none have called upon Vitter to do the same.

What makes these events even more disgraceful is the hypocrisy of the two men. Senator Craig has a 100% voting record against gays and lesbians. David Vitter has preached incessantly about family values. Both men have been saying one thing while doing the complete opposite.

I realize this isn't shocking, since they are politicians, but we should expect at least a modicum of decency from the people that run our country. At the very least, we should force them to obey the laws of the United States.

I don't know what is going on in Republican-land, but they really need to clean up their house. These two bums are in addition to Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL), who resigned late last year after soliciting male teenage pages for sex. That makes three sexual deviants on the conservative side of the ledger. I'm sure there are just as many on the Democratic side, but for now let's fix the ones we know about.
