Alexander Calder 2013 Calendars

Known for inventing the mobile, Alexander Calder was also known for being a great artist.  He was born in Pennsylvania in 1898 and lived until 1976.  He came from a long line of sculptors and became one himself.  The 2013 Alexander Calder calendar features some of the abstract art that he created.  He was often referred to as Sandy Calder, preferring the shorter name.  Before his death, he created a major show at the Whitney Museum in New York City.  Sandy Calder has also created a number of structures for cities.  The 2013 Calder calendar focuses on the art itself.  He designed one in Montreal for the 1967 Expo and a Flamingo in 1974 in Chicago.
