Haiku Japanese Art 2013 Calendars

The well known form of Japanese poetry contains three distinct phrases of five, seven, and five syllables (moras).  The English version of haiku appears in three lines, but the Japanese style is one vertical line.  This 2013 Haiku Japanese Art calendar includes paintings and images to accompany the poetry.  A famous mountain one month, a geisha the next, and historical buildings can be seen in this Haiku 2013 calendar.  The name haiku derives from the word hokku and has been used in the current manner since the 1800's.  However, the origin of the poetry style dates back hundreds of years before that change.
