The
original opened for business in 1923 and since that time has
been home to some of the best Major League Baseball players
of all time. Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle,
Derek Jeter, and Mariano Rivera have been among the best
ever to play in Yankee Stadium. The new park is
located in New York City and holds about 45,000 people.
The 2013 Yankee Stadium calendar may be one of the last as
there is discussion of creating a new park for the team.
The park has also been home to college and professional
football in the past. The New York Giants played
football there for a time and the Army-Navy football games
were also played there. The Yankee Stadium 2013 calendar focuses on the
baseball team though. It is a shrine to many fans. |
