Up
until 2002, they were known as the Charlotte Hornets, but a
move to Louisiana created the New Orleans Hornets.
Unfortunately, New Orleans has been badly damaged from
Hurricane Katrina and the population has declined from
480,000 to 200,000, making it extremely difficult to sustain
a basketball team. As a result of the destruction, the
team played most of their games in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Thus, the 2009 New Orleans Hornets calendars are really a
team with two different cities. In 2009, they are
expected to play some games in Oklahoma City, but will
eventually return to New Orleans. Last year, they
played valiantly, falling just short of a .500 season.
The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets have a great team for
2008 and the guys are here in the calendar in action.
They could definitely make the postseason. |
