The
football Mustangs from SMU are led by June Jones in the
upcoming 2009 season. Although they won but one game
the previous year, Jones is hoping to bring a winning season
back to Dallas. The SMU Mustangs 2013 calendar
goes back to the football days when SMU did well. In
1924, the Mustangs went to their first bowl game, the Dixie
Classic. By 1935, they were at the Rose Bowl.
Texas Christian was a main rival, as the SMU Mustangs
football 2013 calendar shows. The in-state match-up
was a fan favorite, as TCU gave them stiff competition every
year. Southern Methodist University has won four bowl
games with their football team in history. The
Mustangs' last victory came in the Aloha Bowl, with a 27-20
win over Notre Dame. |
