strips, Cathy makes fun of everyday life. In her case,
she focuses on work, love life, food, and motherhood.
In the cartoon, Cathy recently married her longtime
boyfriend, which created a whole new set of strips to write
about. This 2008 Cathy calendar shows the
revitalization of the characters in progress. Up until
the marriage, the comic strip had been running out of
material. Now that she is married, not only has the
material improved, but viewership and sales of merchandise
