Lake Jackson, Texas on April 16, 1971 to a Mexican American
father and a Mexican-Native American mother, Selena
Quintanilla started singing at the young age of six.
She released five albums through EMI and others were
released posthumously. These 2013 Selena calendars
celebrate her incredible life and times. She was
killed at the age of 23 by the deranged president of her fan
club after Selena confronted her about stealing money.

constructed in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1997 to honor her
