The
Islamic jurist, poet, theologian from the thirteenth century
known as Rumi was also known as Jalal ad-Din Muhammad.
He was born in the year 1207 and died in 1273. In that
time, he developed much beautiful poetry that lives on in
this 2013 Rumi calendar. The translations to English
from Coleman Barks are done perfectly to capture the essence
of what Rumi was writing. The Rumi 2013 calendar
allows his translated words to be seen and interpreted by a
much wider audience. It has enabled his popularity to
soar well beyond his life in Persia (what is now Turkey).
He is now described as one of the most popular poets in the
Americas. |
