A
symbol of significance to Roman Catholics is Our Lady of
Guadalupe, also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe. The
shrine is one of Mexico's most recognizable religious icons.
The Spanish 2013 Virgin of Guadalupe calendar shows the
Virgin Mary in many different frames and lights. The
story dates back to December 9, 1531 when a vision of the
Virgin was seen by Juan Diego. The girl of 14-16 years
old asked for a church to be built in her honor. The
Spanish bishop was then told about it and asked for a
miracle to confirm the claim. An image of the Virgin
Mary appeared on Diego's clothes when he presented roses to
the bishop. The Virgin of Guadalupe 2013 calendar
shows the end result of such a miraculous event and nearly
500 years later, the legend lives on. |
