Almost entirely surrounded by land, the Mediterranean Sea is
connected to the west by the Atlantic Ocean. The
Strait of Gibraltar that links the sea to the Atlantic is
only nine miles wide. The Mediterranean covers nearly
one million square miles with an average depth of 4,900
feet. This 2013 Mediterraneo calendar focuses on all
the regions that surround the sea. From the Greek
Isles to the coast of Israel to Europa Point at Gibraltar,
