Waves are found on coasts all over the globe and many
people, especially surfers, go out in search of the greatest
one. This natural phenomena can be very dangerous at
times, as witnessed by the tsunami that hit Asia in December
2004. An earthquake caused a shift in the ocean floor,
and a series of waves hit the shores of many countries and
killed over 300,000 people in a matter of hours. While
that isn't shown in this 2013 Waves calendar, many powerful
waves are. When hurricanes come ashore, huge waves
crash up against the beaches and barriers. Surfers
often are seen out on the ocean just hours before the
