One of
the only drivers to have a college degree, Ryan Newman
stands out in NASCAR. He graduated from Purdue
University with a bachelor's degree, but by then had already
been racing. His first race in the Nextel Cup was in
2000, one year before he received his degree. In the
2013 Ryan Newman calendar, the photos feature the #12 car
running at top speed. He was the NASCAR rookie of the
year in 2002 and driver of the year in 2003. As far
back as 1996, Ryan Newman was the USAC Silver Crown rookie
of the year. The 2013 calendar also shows the many
sponsors Ryan Newman uses. He was only 19 years old at
the point. Now 31, Ryan Newman has won twelve times
and finished in the top ten over 80 times. He has yet
to win in the 2006 season. |
