The
sport of surfing is most often found in Southern California,
Hawaii, and other parts of the world. In the past, the
sport was dominated mostly by guys, but women have been
making some noise and becoming front and center. In
the 2013 Surf Girls calendar on the left, you can see the
best in the world ride the waves on their boards. Not
to be outdone, the boys on the 2013 calendar on the right
know how to hang as well. Some of the best female
surfers in the world are Jill Baxter, Lynne Boyer, Rochelle
Ballard, Bethany Hamilton, and Sofia Mulanovich. The
best is generally considered to be Layne Beachley, who has
won the championship six times. |
