Generally considered one of the best movies of all time, this romantic classic starred Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Casablanca also featured Paul Henreid and Claude Reins. The motion picture Casablanca was made in 1942 and was set during WWII in the Moroccan city of Casablanca (Morocco's largest city of 2.95 million people). Casablanca displayed an amazing chemistry between Rick (Bogart) and Ilsa Lund (Bergman). Bogart played the character of Rick, who is the owner of a bar/club and Bergman plays his ex-lover, who is married to a man with a bounty on his head. Her husband is a resistance fighter for Czechoslovakia and needs to escape. Despite his feelings for Ilsa, Rick eventually helps them flee. |
