movie was filmed in 1961 and starred Paul Newman as Eddie
Felson and Jackie Gleeson as Minnesota Fats. It also
had performances by Piper Laurie as Sarah Packard and George
C. Scott as Bert Gordon. The story was about a rising
star in the game of billiards. Fast Eddie was a small
time hustler who was so gutsy that he challenged the
legendary Minnesota Fats to an expensive game. He
eventually loses and then spirals downhill in a hurry.
He meets up with Bert Gordon to recapture his swagger and
learn how to play with the big boys. However, his
journey up to the top of the ranks comes with a price.
