She played Holly Golightly, a daring, darling of a character who is a New York socialite. Audrey Hepburn was born on May 4, 1929 in Belgium and died on January 20, 1993 in Switzerland. Hepburn began a modeling career in London in the late 1940's and then moved on to perform in European films in the early 1950's. In 1953, Audrey Hepburn was recognized by US filmmakers for her role in
"Roman Holiday". She starred in movies in the 1950's
and then received an Academy nomination for her role in
"Breakfast at Tiffany's" as seen in the poster above.
Audrey Hepburn went on to star in "My Fair Lady" in 1964 and retired a few years later while at her best. Audrey Hepburn made cameos on
occasion and her last film was "Always" in 1989. |
