President Dwight D. Eisenhower Posters

He is most known for being the President of the United States from 1953 - 1961.  Dwight Eisenhower was also the general that commanded allied forces in Europe during WW II.  That distinction as a decorated war hero launched his political career and helped him attain the presidency.  Dwight David Eisenhower was born in Texas and graduated from the West Point military academy in 1915.  Eisenhower worked his way up through the ranks for the next 25+ years and was made Supreme Commander in December of 1943.  After the war, be became Governor of the occupied territory in Germany.  He purposely re-classed German POW's as Disarmed Enemy Forces in order to force them into work.  Many died because of it.  He was pushed to run as a Republican and became the 34th President.  President Dwight David Eisenhower died at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, DC.
