Douglas MacArthur Posters

He was born in January of 1880 in Arkansas.  Douglas MacArthur grew up to be a General in the United States Army and one of the most decorated war heroes in the 20th century.  He was one of only five men ever to attain such a rank.  Despite his rise to the top of the ranks, MacArthur was a controversial figure.  General Douglas MacArthur was the commander of allied forces in the Southwest Pacific Area during World War II.  With that role, he was in charge the Australian forces in the region.  MacArthur received much criticism for his handling of them, as he relegated them to lower tasks and any victory they had was reported as an Allied victory, whereas when American soldiers won, it was called an American victory.  General Douglas MacArethur was removed from command due to insubordination to his boss, Harry S. Truman.
