This film was produced in 2002 and featured Dennis Quaid as Jimmy Morris and Rachel Griffiths as Lorri Morris. It was a sentimental story about a high school pitching coach who gets convinced by his players to try out for the major leagues. Jim had been a pitcher in the minor leagues for twelve years, but a shoulder injury had ended his dream of making it to the show. At his advanced age, it is a long shot at best, and Jim must handle a wife and children as he works his way back up the system. He finally makes it to the majors and pitches in relief for the Devil Rays. |
