After destroying the Vet, the
decrepit, old stadium where the Philadelphia Eagles used to play, Lincoln Financial Field was opened and was the host for the first Monday night football game in September, 2003.
They did not fare very well at first, as they lost the first
game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by the score of 17-0.
They also went on to lose their second game at the stadium
and started the season 0-2. Panic swept though
Philadelphia, as it often does, but the Eagles righted the
ship and went on to a successful season. They went to
the championship game for the third consecutive season and
lost for the third consecutive time. This time, it was
to the Carolina Panthers. |
