Below is a baseball poster of the famous Wrigley Field. The Wrigley Field poster features a view of the outside of the stadium in the old days as you can tell by the types of cars that are driving around. The park was built in 1914 for a cost of $250,000. |

This is the home to the Chicago Cubs since 1916. It was originally known as Weeghman Park until 1920 and was then named Cubs Park until 1925. It was also home to the Chicago Bears from 1921-1970 and the Chicago Wales in 1914 and 1915. It also hosted games of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) in the 1940's. At the time it was built, it could only seat 14,000 people. That number quickly grew to 40,000 by 1928 and today has a capacity of about 38,900. One of the claims to fame of Wrigley Field is that it did not have lights for years upon years. The Cubs played all of their games during the day. However, since it was difficult to fill the place during the afternoon, the eventually put up lights in 1988. |
