Below is a poster of Curt Shilling's bloody red sock that he pitched with for Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS. The Ultimate Red Sock poster is now famous, as Curt Schilling pitched through the pain to get the win. He did it again in the World Series the next week. |

Red Sox - Curt Schilling Posters

In Game 1 of the 2004 ALCS against the Yankees, Curt Schilling got lit up and he lost the game. He was injured in his right ankle and could not get push off the mound as he normally would be able to. Curt Schilling had doctors surgically repair the ankle just enough so that he could go pitch Game 6 of the ALCS and he went on to win the game in one of his gutsiest performances ever. The ankle was so beat up that the blood from the wound seeped through the sock. After the ALCS, it was unclear if he would be able to pitch in the World Series, but he rose to the challenge and came through. The Red Sox, of course, went on to win the World Series. |
