Curtis James Jackson was born in Queens, New York in 1975. Jackson (aka 50 Cent) quickly became involved in the drug trade in the area and became a substantial drug dealer. At one point, 50 Cent was shot nine times and left for dead. As the wounds were not to vital organs, he was able to recover. His album "Get Rich or Die Trying", which is featured on the above t-shirt, sold over 800,000 copies in the first week of its release. Fifty Cent has released subsequent albums after the original and has now sold over 22 million copies, making him one of the best selling rap artists of all time. The 50 Cent t-shirt shows his debut album that sold millions. Despite being a drug dealer, 50 Cent has been praised inside the industry and has also appeared on The Simpsons and has a video game named after him. Reebok and others have also joined up with 50 Cent, but not without controversy. Organizations have tried to prevent corporations from teaming up with someone who promotes violence and hatred in his music.
