Often called The Queen City, the rural, steel city of
Allentown is a good sixty miles outside of Philadelphia.
The town is well known because of the tune that Billy Joel
recorded back in the early 1980's. The Allentown
t-shirts both have little red hearts to prove the love of
the steel town. Crime levels in the town are
moderately higher than the rest of the nation, according to
FBI statistics. The rough nature makes the Allentown
t-shirt to the left look like it'd fit in. The font is
an unusual style. Since it was an industrial and steel
city, Allentown has suffered from the transition in America
from a labor-intensive economy to a service oriented one.
Still, a number of firms have been able to keep their
headquarters in town. |
