The
town called the City of Lights for being the first to have
electric street lights in 1881 is Aurora, Illinois.
Surprisingly, it is the second largest city in the state
behind Chicago. The Aurora t-shirts seen above don't
denote the state, so they can also be used by the same named
city in Colorado. With 157,000, it pales in comparison
to the millions in Chicago, but they doesn't stop Aurorans
from making the place their own. Pretty Aurora is how
one t-shirt reads, as it is done up in red. On the
list of infamy, jailed executive Jeffrey Skilling of Enron,
hails from this town. He wasn't born in Aurora, but
went to high school here. In addition, the two main
fictional characters in Wayne's World live here. |
