Authentic Louisiana at every turn is the motto of the City
of Baton Rouge, often called Red Stick. Because of the
destruction of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina in 2005,
Baton Rouge has now become the largest city in the state.
The 225 area code as seen here in the Baton Rouge t-shirts
are a popular trend in clothing these days. The
concept was perpetuated by an American Idol contestant and
has since taken off. The Baton Rouge t-shirts show two
unique styles of the 225. A number of New Orleans
refugees traveled to this city and decided to stay after
witnessing the devastation to their hometown. As a
result, business boomed for quite a while afterward.
It is estimated that 15,000-30,000 Katrina victims have
stayed in Baton Rouge. |
