Independence Day parades take place all over the United
States on July 4th, but Bristol is the one that has run it
continuously since 1777. The town in southern Rhode
Island is a tourist haven, but is home to only 22,500 people
year round. The Bristol t-shirts support the beach
town. The Most Patriotic Town in America, as it is
identified, was noticed giving the parade on the very first
anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Many
of the 200,000 people that visit that day are wearing
Bristol t-shirts and clothing to show their country.
Roger Williams University is also located in Bristol.
It has about 4,500 students and 400 faculty members. |
