To the
north and away from the destructive power of Katrina is the
budding city of Monroe. Part of Ouachita Parish in
Louisiana, this city ranks eighth in the state and does not
even include West Monroe, which has another 13,250 folks.
The Monroe t-shirts are vintage, with a design fade
included. Telecommunications is the industry that
makes this town go and they are broadening their horizons to
host a motor speedway in 2008. The female Monroe
t-shirts are also sold in men's sizes. The shirts
focus on the big letter 'M'. The University of
Louisiana at Monroe is part of the UL system and has 9,000
undergraduates. It is one of their main campuses and
is one of the few schools that offer degrees in gerontology. |
