To the
south of the major metropolis of Salt Lake City is the city
of Orem. The Utah suburb is a full forty five miles
away from Salt Lake, but still holds its own as the fifth
largest city in the state. The Orem t-shirts present
their own identity apart from others. Now that the
community is up to 89,000 residents, it has started to draw
interest from sports teams. The Orem Owlz, a rookie
league baseball squad of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
started playing here in 2004. The Orem t-shirts can be
seen at their games at Parkway Crossing Stadium. In
addition, the NBA's Development League came knocking and
awarded Orem, Utah a franchise that begins playing in 2007.
The team does not have a name yet, but will play at the
McKay Events Center. |
