Detroit's most populated suburb and consequently the third
largest city in the state of Michigan is that of Warren.
The Macomb County community is home to 135,000 folks, a
sharp drop-off from the late twentieth century when the
population peaked at 179,000. These Warren t-shirts
can also be used by the people of the small Rhode Island
town near Bristol. The Rhode Island version has only
11,000 residents, but is a hotspot for summer vacationers.
Neither of these Warren t-shirts designated the state, but
the city in Michigan is clearly the largest even with the
25% decline in population. Much of the decrease is due
to the lack of jobs in the area and the gradual
deterioration of Detroit. Also, the age of residents
in Warren is among the oldest in the country. Without
younger people moving in, the population will continue to
decline. |
