The 1935 comedy "Our Gang" (Little Rascals) featured Billie "Buckwheat" Thomas from the age of three until fourteen. William Thomas Jr. lived from 1931-1980. Although he died at the young age of 49, he is always remembered for his role on Little Rascals. The Buckwheat t-shirts reads "Otay", which was one of his famous sayings. In the television show, we saw Thomas grow up from a small child to a teenager. Crazy hair and a maroon color is how this Buckwheat t-shirt appears. More than 60 years after the comedy went off the air, the characters are still recognizable. Buckwheat was such a part of the pop culture that Eddie Murphy reprised the character during a series of sketches on Saturday Night Live in the 1970's. The son of the real actor did not approve of the bit.
